ICRH Emerging Network Grants (2013)

The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, in partnership with the CIHR Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health and the CIHR Institute of Aging are pleased to announce the results of the ICRH Emerging Network Grants initiative.

The ultimate goal of an ICRH Emerging Network will be to generate new knowledge and bridge gaps between research and outcomes by contributing to one or more of the following: identifying key knowledge gaps, promoting national and international collaborations among scientists from all themes to address those gaps in a coherent fashion by sharing ideas, tools, methods, and scarce resources, accelerating translation of biomedical discoveries into clinical applications and best practices as well as; to the marketplace; developing, validating, and implementing an intervention that changes a significant aspect of practice; and evaluating outcomes to demonstrate impact. It will be important for all ICRH funded Emerging Networks to demonstrate added-value with respect to identified challenges in their field, and more specifically portray how they will achieve specific goals that could not be achieved without the Emerging Network.
